So, last night I saw Bright Eyes at the Santa Barbara Bowl with Willy Mason and the Sons & Daughters. The first two performances were pretty good, and I was impressed. Willy Mason is a solo artist from Massachussets that plays folk songs about cats. The Sons & Daughters were a Scottish Indie Rock band, and they put on a pretty good show. But the real kicker was Bright Eyes.
I swear that this tour will be what makes him known, and I'm not worried about that being a bad thing. I know that he won't take his popularity and ruin his music. The world needs to know who he is, and he needs to "infiltrate the mainstream", as the Ventura County Star put it. This tour is like the perfect commercial for fans of his two newest albums that haven't really heard alot of his older stuff. He played old songs, songs off the new albums, and even one new song called "Napolean's Hat", I believe. I can't wait to see how this pans out.
In two words, FUCKING AMAZING!
